Lubbock ISD issued a statement on Thursday morning saying there was elevated security. LISD also said classes continued as normal.
The following is the LISD statement released just after 11:00 a.m.:
Lubbock ISD administration is aware of information circulating about students with a weapon at Coronado High School. The Lubbock ISD Police Department has elevated security on the campus and all standard response protocols are being followed. Classroom instruction is continuing as normal and there is no cause for alarm. The safety of our students and staff continues to be our highest priority.
