The request for court-ordered mediation in the Reagor Dykes (RD) bankruptcy case has been put off until February 14 while RD and Ford Motor Credit Company negotiate behind the scenes.
RD made a request this week for court-ordered mediation. Ford and a Lubbock bank both filed written objections – both saying, among other things, the complexity of the case makes mediation impossible.
A court hearing was set for Thursday, but right at the start an attorney for RD said, “We made progress with Ford on negotiations.”
Ford said putting off the issue of mediation would be just fine. Specific details of the negotiations between Ford and RD were not disclosed in court.
On a side note, the owners of two addresses in the 6500 block of 82nd Street put Reagor Dykes on notice in written court records that rent has not been paid, and RD must vacate the properties.
Last year Ford sued RD for default and fraud. Also, three local banks accused RD of fraud in court records.
RD filed for bankruptcy on August 1.
