Lubbock is the 10th best place in the United States to raise a family, according to Zumper. Austin beat out Lubbock as 9th best on the national list – meaning Austin and Lubbock were the best places in Texas.
Lubbock’s best attribute was commute time, scoring a perfect 10 out of 10 on the Zumper ranking. Lubbock’s low point was crime with 2.7 out of 10.
Zumper said, “Lubbock rounds out the top of our first ever ranking of best cities to raise a family.”
“Lubbock was bolstered by lower average housing costs for individuals with a mortgage, a large population of people under 45, and the shortest commute time of any city in our rankings, as residents report an average daily commute of a mere sixteen minutes,” Zumper also said.
Best on the list was Madison, Wisconsin.
