Catholics in the Diocese of Lubbock continue to respond to help support fellow Texans who are victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Catholics gathered in prayer on Thursday, September 7, in churches and homes across the 25-county area surrounding Lubbock to pray for those killed and those displaced by Hurricane Harvey.
Other opportunities to help are available to Lubbock-area Texans. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Lubbock is accepting personal hygiene products to create kits to be sent to south Texas. Items, such as toothpaste, combs, shampoo and feminine hygiene products will be accepted until Friday, September 22, 2017, at the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Lubbock main office at 102 Ave J in Lubbock, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Directed by the United States Bishops, Catholics in the Diocese of Lubbock will have the opportunity to give a monetary donation through a special collection which will be taken in each of the 62 parishes of the Diocese of Lubbock during the Masses September 9 and 10. A goal of a $100,000 contribution is set based on past disaster relief collections.

The Diocese of Lubbock also joins in prayer for all affected by, and in the path of, Hurricane Irma. The Knights of Columbus is accepting funds for Hurricane Irma relief. To contribute visit www.kofc.org
