Joyland Amusement Park, in partnership with The Haven Animal Care Shelter will kick off the “Dog Days of Summer” Pet Adoption Campaign this Saturday, June 17 at 2pm at Joyland Amusement Park in Mackenzie Park.  This special campaign is designed to build awareness for the urgent need for pet adoption in the Lubbock area and to provide adoption opportunities to families and individuals.

On the third Saturday of each of the summer months, The Haven will bring a select group of adoption pets to Joyland for people to see, pet and interact with.  Those choosing to adopt will find the process simple and straightforward.

The “Dog Days of Summer” Campaign will begin with a check presentation to the shelter from Kristi and David Dean, owners of Joyland Amustment Park at 2:15pm on Saturday, June 17th. Joyland is donating a portion of each ticket sold during the campaign to help support the mission of The Haven.

The Haven, located at 4501 N. FM 1729, is a no-kill, non-profit facility dedicated to the care and adoption placement of animals, mostly dogs and cats.  Established in 1977 by Dr. Brenda and Joe Wilbanks, The Haven houses and cares for around 100 animals that are available for adoption.
