The Texas Department of Public Safety on Monday released the name of the victim in a deadly crash that happened Sunday night.
DPS said Cary Lynn Stennett, 59, of Lorenzo died in the crash.
DPS said Magalhaes Victor Costa, 25, of Amarillo was driving a car northbound on FM 400 near FM 40 and “disregarded the stop sign at the intersection.” An 18-wheeler driven by Stennett hit the car on the passenger side.
The vehicles in the crash then caught fire according to DPS.
“The driver and passenger were pulled from [the car] by a witness,” DPS said. “The witness was unable to get the driver of [the 18-wheeler] out of the vehicle.”
DPS said conditions were clear and dry. No other injuries were reported.

Correction: The car was on FM 400.
