The Texas Department of Public Safety released information late Tuesday night concerning a deadly crash that happened in the early morning hours of Saturday.
DPS said a semi-truck driven by Gustavo Reyes, 49, of Plainview was going westbound on Interstate 20 west of Midland. A motorcycle driven by Joseph C. Privitt, 48, of Mineral Wells was also going west on I-20. DPS said a pickup truck with an unknown driver was going east in the westbound lane.
DPS said the pickup truck hit the motorcycle head-on. That caused the motorcycle to then strike the semi-truck.
DPS said the driver of the pickup truck fled the scene.
Privitt was pronounced dead on the scene. Reyes was not injured according to DPS.
