Four people were detained Thursday evening after a chase in Garza and Lubbock counties. The Texas Department of Public Safety and Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office worked together to make the stop.
On Friday morning DPS said three people were let go and only the driver was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center. The driver, Samuel Rodriguez-Morales, 44, of Mexico was charged with evading in a vehicle.
The following is a statement Thursday evening from DPS:
Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper attempted to stop a vehicle at approximately 7:15 pm on US 84 just east of Southland near county road 160 in Garza county for a traffic violation when it failed to stop.
The vehicle continued west bound through Slaton on US 84.
The Lubbock County Sheriff’s placed spikes in the west bound lanes successfully spiking the vehicle. The vehicle did come to a stop on US 84 and FM 1585 and four subjects were detained without incident.
