A federal indictment on Wednesday was brought against Jimmy Kit Fields, 37.
On June 1, Littlefield Police described Fields as a wanted sex offender. With help from the public, the Lamb County Sheriff’s Office found and arrested Fields in Olton for charges in New Mexico. At the time, those charges were described as criminal sexual penetration of a child, child solicitation by electronic communication devices, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and supplying alcohol to a minor.
A federal grand jury in Lubbock added to those charges, accusing Fields of enticement of a minor. The indictment said “on or about” May 29, Fields was in violation of a New Mexico law concerning a child between the ages of 13 to 16. The indictment said his actions were also a violation of Texas law.
The indictment said Fields used a smart phone to entice the minor.
Officials in June said Fields was with a 13-year-old girl who was reported missing from Portales, New Mexico. They said he had sexual relations with her on multiple occasions.
