Two vehicles caught fire and burned in a crash along Highway 84 just north of Snyder around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

DPS said a semi-trailer struck a pickup truck parked on the shoulder on the eastbound side of Highway 84, ending with both vehicles in flames. The accident happened 13 miles north of Snyder.

Witnesses say smoke was visible from a great distance away.

There were three occupants in the pickup truck and one in the semi-trailer.  Officials said the driver of the pickup was critically injured and was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock.

DPS believes all others involved are okay, but do not have details on their conditions or locations.

The crash is still under investigation.
