Due to a high number of sick cases, Rise Academy Charter School will not be holding classes on Thursday and Friday.

Sarenda Godfrey, business manager for Rise Academy, said the school has seen 25 percent of their students come down with the flu, strep throat or some other stomach bug.

With classes from Pre-K to 8th grade, Godfrey said Rise Academy has an enrollment of 298 students.

Godfrey said the school will undergo a deep clean on Thursday.

She said classes will resume on Monday.
