A house fire last week in Central Lubbock took the life of former Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office Captain David S. Turner, Sr. On Monday, LCSO and University Medical Center on Monday both confirmed that Turner passed away.
LCSO said Turner served the sheriff’s office from 1979 – 1991.
Information online said services will be at First Assembly of God Church, 3801 98th Street, at 1:00 pm on Thursday. Arrangements for visitation were still pending with Combest Family Funeral Home.
Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to a fire on Tuesday, November 20, in the 2500 block of 70th Street.
On the day of the fire, LFR said, “Upon arrival crews were able to extricate two individuals from the structure who were transported by EMS for medical treatment.”
It was later revealed that the cause of the fire was the “use of extension cords which overloaded circuits.”
