Former Spur Coach Indicted for Enticement of a Child

Former Spur ISD coach Charles Fulmer was indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury in Lubbock for enticement of a child.

A criminal complaint accused Fulmer of having a sexual relationship with a student in 2017.

The complaint said Fulmer’s messages to and from the girl were evidence.  The messages were discovered because the girl’s mom became suspicious.  The girl admitted to her mom and to school officials that she had a sexual relationship with Fulmer, according to the complaint.

Originally, Fulmer was charged in state court for sexual assault of a child.  However, there has been no indictment in the state case.  Instead, essentially the same allegations were made against him federal court.

Fulmer was able to post bond to remain free until his trial date.  A federal magistrate put conditions of release on Fulmer.  For example, he is not allowed to be unsupervised around children.
