During media day from Atlanta, LaAdrian Waddle talked about his time at Texas Tech and how that prepared him for the role he will have with the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Waddle is an offensive tackle.  He re-signed with the Patriots before the 2018 season.

Waddle played for Texas Tech from 2009 – 2012.  He earned First Team All-Big 12 honors in 2012.

“Getting to Tech from high school, it was different. You had to work hard like you did in high school.”  Waddle said.

According to texastech.com, Waddle came to the Red Raiders from Columbus High School in Columbus, Texas.  Texastech.com said, in addition to Tech, Waddle also had offers from Tulane, Rice, Houston, SMU, TCU and Mississippi.

“You had to put more time and effort into it, especially with the school side of things on top of the football,” Waddle said.  “Getting that work ethic down really helped transition into the NFL and it’s something I can hang my hat on today.”

Waddle played for the Detroit Lions from 2013 – 2015 and has been with the Patriots since then.  The matchup between the Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams will be Waddle’s third Super Bowl game.
