The following is a press release from Gaines County Sheriff’s Office:
On Saturday, February 23, 2019 at approximately 8:00 pm the Gaines County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a woman being shot in the 400 block of County Road 300-J in Gaines County.
Gaines County deputies, Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, and Seminole Police Department officers arrived on scene a few minutes later and found Susana Peters Neufeld, age 40, of Seminole, Texas deceased from a gunshot wound.
A male subject was detained for questioning and after further investigation, an arrest warrant for murder was obtained through Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Jeff James. The male was identified as Jacob Unger Neufeld, age 41, of Seminole, Texas. Neufeld is currently being held in the Gaines County Jail on a one million dollar bond.
The Gaines County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in the investigation by the Texas Rangers.
