The Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center (GAC) will host a reception on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the opening of the Lubbock Camera Club Exhibition. The exhibit is free and open to the public and is part of the First Friday Art Trail. The Lubbock Camera Club was organized in the early 1970s when a handful of photographers came together to “promote photography as a mutual interest.” The club now boasts more than 90 members working in both film and digital photography. The Lubbock Camera Club meets every second Tuesday at Connect Church from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center strives to offer an array of fun and comprehensive classes and events for all ages, from basic classes in painting, drawing and photography, to specialized classes such as faux finishing. The center is located at 4215 University Avenue.
