The following is a news release from the Riley Reding Memorial Fundraiser:
The first Riley Reding Memorial Fundraiser will culminate in a golf ball drop at Cagle Steaks on August 7th at 8 p.m.
Golf balls may be purchased for $20.00 each at Cagle Steaks, 8732 4th St. from 5 – 7pm on August 7.
Purchased golf balls will be dropped from a helicopter at 8:00pm near the restaurant. The ball that lands in the hole or closest to the pin wins 25% of the total amount collected. Currently, the prize money stands at more than $6,500. Donors need not be present to win.
Riley Reding was 21 years old. He allowed one mistake to define him and took his own life. He had aspirations to be a firefighter with the Wolfforth Fire Academy. Our hope is to prevent such a tragedy from happening to another family. This event is not only to help individuals realize their dreams to become firefighters, but to educate the public on suicide awareness.
