The following is a news release from Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas:

Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas (GINWT) is pleased to announce the recent hire of Victoria Rodriguez as the nonprofit agency’s new director of workforce development.

The self-proclaimed, lifelong fan of Goodwill and Lubbock native began her new role with GINWT, March 11. She shares Goodwill’s passion for their mission to create jobs for people with barriers to employment.

As a frequent customer of Goodwill, I love and support the Goodwill mission.  The same manner that I breathe new life into my Goodwill purchases, is the same way that Goodwill breathes new life into individuals, giving them a second chance and a new sense of purpose in their life, Rodriguez said.

The new director’s extensive background and education in combined fields also make her highly qualified to direct the human resources department at GINWT. Furthermore, based on her extended professional expertise, Rodriguez’s role also includes overseeing the organization’s Training, Placement and Life Skills (T-PALS) program, as well as the health and safety, and compliance divisions.

“I am thrilled to welcome Victoria to the Goodwill family,” said Robin Raney, CEO of Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas. “The agency has experienced remarkable growth and expansion over the last three years, and having Victoria on board will further support and expand our service to the community.”

Rodriguez comes to GINWT from Aramark in Lubbock where she was the human resources manager and championed corporate initiatives including salary planning, diversity and succession planning for the LISD food services provider. During her career, she has assisted in the management of 15,000 employees at Texas Tech University, served as a strategic business partner in human resources for the combined areas of Lubbock and Dallas with Amerigroup, and served in other human resources managerial roles for various large, local organizations.

Before earning a master’s in human resource management from Wayland Baptist University, Rodriguez graduated with a Bachelor of Science in organizational management from Lubbock Christian University and an Associate of Applied Science as a legal assistant from South Plains College.

Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission of creating job opportunities for people with barriers to employment. This mission is supported by its Training, Placement and Life Skills (T-PALS) program, which is committed to helping people find jobs, whether within Goodwill itself or in the community, through free job training and placement services and classes focused on resume writing, interview skills and job search techniques, as well as beginning, intermediate and advanced computer classes.
