Gunshots, Vandalism, and 19-Year-Old Arrested by LPD

Lubbock Police released new information Monday morning about an incident Sunday evening at 40th Street and Avenue W.

“Angela Erwin, 19, was arrested for aggravated assault,” police said.  “She was transported to UMC to be treated for a small laceration, and was then booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center.”

LPD also said on Monday, “During the incident there were reports of shots fired. At this time, there are no known gunshot victims connected to this case.”

The initial call was for a possible shooting or stabbing.  Police found no one injured.  However, police did find several vehicles were vandalized.

Police said the gunshots and the damaged vehicles were still under investigation.  Erwin remained in the Lubbock County Detention Center late Monday morning on a $10,000 bond.

Police did not say if Erwin is the one who fired shots.  Police also did not say if she was the one suspected of vandalism.  Police have only said she was arrested on scene.
