A federal grand jury on Wednesday indicted David Trotter of Hale County for receipt of child pornography.
A criminal complaint said in December of 2017 a 13-year-old girl claimed Trotter secretly took video of her getting out of the shower. The girl also claimed Trotter purchased sexually provocative clothing for her and arranged for her to have a sexual relationship with a teenage boy.
An FBI agent wrote, “In my training and experience, the pattern of behavior relayed from Jane Doe [the 13-year-old] is consistent with Trotter preparing Jane Doe for a sexual relationship.”
The complaint said Trotter posed as Jane Doe on a messaging account and convinced a second teenage boy to send sexually explicit images.
“He then used a second device to take a photograph of the device displaying the photographs [from the second teenage boy],” the criminal complaint said. “Law enforcement contacted Trotter on April 16, 2018, and Trotter agreed to speak with law enforcement.”
“Trotter told law enforcement that he wanted compromising photographs,” the complaint said.
The FBI did not find the computer tablet that Jane Doe said Trotter used to record her getting out of the shower. However, the FBI did find sexually explicit images of the second teenage boy.
“In my opinion, these photographs constitute child pornography,” the criminal complaint said.
Trotter is required to appear in court for an arraignment Friday at 11:00 a.m.
