A Hazmat team and other emergency responders were called to Interstate 27 at about the 27-mile marker Wednesday afternoon for a commercial truck crash.
A photojournalist on scene said there were multiple ambulances called to the crash. The photojournalist reported that a commercial truck was going south and crossed the median to hit a pickup truck that was going north.
Early Wednesday evening, DPS released a statement. It said a crane truck had a tire blow-out, and that caused the driver, David Keeling, 43, of Wolfforth, to lose control and strike the pillar of an overpass.
The crane continued into the northbound lanes and hit a semi-truck and pickup truck.
DPS said Keeling, the driver of the semi, Roland Aguillon, 54, of Hereford, and the driver of the pickup, Tommie Scott, 63 of Plainview, were all taken to University Medical Center.
UMC said Keeling and Aguillon were in stable condition Wednesday night. Scott’s condition was unavailable.
