The Reagor Dykes Auto Group has a love affair with Lubbock its downtown area and all of its potential but another thing that resonates with the owners of the group is an appreciation for its history. Bringing back some of that history and bringing folks back to downtown is the goal of the latest display effort in the old Hemphill-Wells Building located at 1212 Avenue J.
The Tornado Gallery, Lubbock Arts Alliance and Reagor-Dykes Auto Group collaborated to build the display which features some of the neon signs that adorned and brought to life some downtown business of old, canvases of old downtown businesses and classic cars that would have been driven on local streets from the 1940’s to the 1970’s.
“There is a lot happening with our downtown right now, this display give our younger generations a sense of what downtown Lubbock once was, while seeing its resurgence first hand. There will be many more memories made in downtown Lubbock for generations to come, we are happy to be a part of it,” Bart Reagor said.
