The following is a news release from the City of Lubbock:
The City of Lubbock Keep Lubbock Beautiful organization is unveiling a new litter prevention program called 10 on Tuesday. This new program encourages individuals, businesses, civic organizations, and schools to work towards a clean, litter free city.
Litter is a leading preventable environmental problem, and we have the power to stop it. The 10 on Tuesday program calls on individuals and groups to remove 10 pieces of litter every Tuesday.
“We hope this new program motivates people of all ages to do the right thing to prevent and end litter. We will work with individuals, businesses, civic organizations, and school partners to bring the 10 on Tuesday litter prevention program to people across our community. We will provide businesses, civic groups, and schools resources to help them maintain the cleanliness of their communities, recycle certain litter, and further reduce the volume of trash entering our landfill and waterways,” Keep Lubbock Beautiful Staff Liaison Raquel Mullen said.
