Lubbock ISD confirmed that Whiteside Elementary School was evacuated before 9:30 a.m. for a bomb threat. At 11:00 a.m., LISD announced that an “all clear” had been given.
EverythingLubbock.com also learned that officials were dealing with a bomb threat at Ramirez Elementary School at about the same time.
Kids from Whiteside were sent to Irons Middle School.
After the all-clear, Lubbock ISD said, “The Lubbock ISD Police Department, along with assistance from the Lubbock Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation, thoroughly swept both campuses and determined the threat to be a hoax.”

At 10:36 a.m., Lubbock ISD sent the following update:
At 9:27 a.m. this morning, a bomb threat was called in to the front office at Whiteside Elementary School from an out-of-state phone number. The call was followed by another threat to the office at Ramirez Elementary School. The campuses have been evacuated in accordance with the district standard response protocol. The Lubbock ISD Police Department, along with assistance from the Lubbock Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation, are currently sweeping the buildings. Ramirez has been cleared by law enforcement and they are working on Whiteside now. All students and staff are safe and accounted for. Safety is Lubbock ISD’s highest priority and all emergency protocols are being followed to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
