Starting Friday, July 21st, Barricades Unlimited will be closing all lanes on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard near East 58th Street to allow Plainsman Switching to perform work on the railroad crossing. MLK, Jr. Blvd. will be closed for approximately 200 feet on either side of the railroad crossing.

The following detours will be in place over the weekend and possibly a portion of next week:

  1. Northbound and Southbound MLK, Jr. Blvd. traffic will be detoured to Elm Ave. (at E. 66th St. & E. 50th St.)
  2. “Road Closed to Thru Traffic” signs will be placed on MLK, Jr. Blvd. at E. 50th St. & E. 66th St. to allow local access only

Weather permitting, work will begin Friday and last approximately three days.

The City encourages drivers to use caution while driving in work zones and to seek alternate routes.
