The following is a news release from the Lubbock Central Appraisal District:
The Lubbock Central Appraisal District will begin mailing 2019 Notices of Appraised Value on April 2, 2019.
With another good year in our local real estate market, the average market value of a single family residence in Lubbock County is $154,491 in 2019 as compared to $146,179 in 2018.
Informal meetings on Residential, Commercial and Agricultural properties will begin on April 3rd and end on May 1st . Property owners are urged to contact the appraisal district and use the informal review process during this time if they have questions or concerns about any information on the appraisal notice.
If the questions or concerns cannot be resolved informally with the Lubbock Central Appraisal District staff, the property owner may have their case heard by the Appraisal Review Board (ARB) by filing a formal written protest (Notice of Protest) before the protest deadline. Notice of Protest forms can be obtained from the appraisal district office or at www.lubbockcad.org. The deadline to file a formal protest is on or before May 15th (or 30 days after the Notice of Appraised Value was mailed to the property owner, whichever is later). The protest deadline is included on the appraisal notice.
Property owners may file an online protest if the property is their residence homestead. Refer to the Notice of Appraised Value for your Online Protest ID. Specific instructions can be found on our website at www.lubbockcad.org.
The Lubbock County Appraisal Review Board (ARB) will begin hearings on May 6th.
