The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office said an arrest has been of a “person of interest” in a murder case, but the name was not yet released.
“Investigators with the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office, have arrested a Person of Interest on unrelated charges, is being questioned about the murder of Katrina Castillo,” LCSO said.
Castillo, 20, was found dead Monday evening in the backyard of the 4200 block of east 2nd Street.
LCSO previously said, “On Monday, at 4:36 p.m., the Lubbock County Sheriff Office received a call from the homeowners that a female was lying in the backyard not sure if she was alive. When Deputies arrived they determined the female was indeed deceased.”
Her car was located at 50th Street and Bangor Avenue Tuesday night. Deputies searched the car.
“Justice will be served, my love. I promise.” her mother wrote on her Facebook page before noon Wednesday. “You were loved by so many people. I can’t even keep up with all the messages, posts and love we are receiving.”
