A slate of highly effective and successful Christian professionals from various organizations will be featured this week at the Women in Leadership conference at Lubbock Christian University. Each guest presenter will offer leadership insights based on their experiences as women in leadership roles this Thursday, February 28, at 1:30 p.m. in the Collier Auditorium of the Margaret Talkington Center for Nursing.
Featured during the afternoon program are:
- Tonya Carruthers, Human Resources Professional, Talent Group business partner, who has led HR functions at corporations such as Interstate Batteries, Walmart, JCP, and Pizza Hut.
- Dr. Michelle McCord, Superintendent, Frenship ISD, who has garnered more than 20 years of educational experience and service to public schools and was named superintendent for Friendship in 2015.
- Dr. Amy Nel Thompson, CEO/CMO, Covenant Women’s and Children’s Hospital – Dr. Thompson worked as a pediatric physician for five years before becoming CMO of Covenant Children’s in 2013 and being named CEO in 2016. She participates in and leads numerous professional medical societies and committees, and she has contributed to various publications.
- Kathrine Lee, CEO, Pure Hope Foundation – Kathrine Lee is the creator of a faith-based personal development system, The Ultimate Source, and founder of the non-profit, Pure Hope Foundation.
- Holly Betenbough, Board Member, Betenbough Companies – Public Benefit Corp. Holly served as Ministry Director for Betenbough Homes for 18 years. Her role included developing relationships and financial partnerships with ministries in the Lubbock community and around the world.
“LCU is excited to bring women in leadership roles together to discuss ways their Christian faith influences how they lead. Our hope is to offer proven corporate leadership training to the Lubbock community from world-class speakers who are excellent professionals,” said Dr. Kathy Crockett, event coordinator and professor of Leadership and Management at LCU
There are still a limited amount of seats available, and the cost of the conference is $75 and is open to women in the South Plains area who are already leading in their organizations or who aspire to be leaders.
