Firefighters were dispatched to fire at a South Lubbock restaurant early Wednesday morning.
The fire was reported just before 4:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of South Loop 289 at Jason’s Deli.
According to Lubbock Fire Rescue, crews arrives on scene and found a fire in the kitchen area.
The fire was quickly contained and extinguished.
LFR said the restaurant sustained appoximately 5-percent damage, but there is smoke damage throughout the building.
The Lubbock Fire Marshal’s Office has ruled the fire as accidental.
The restaurant is temporarily closed at this time.
Jason’s Deli released the following statement to EverythingLubbock.com and customers:
Jason’s Deli is temporarily closed for repairs and cleanup after experiencing a kitchen fire in the early morning of February 27. No employees or customers were injured. Thank you to the Lubbock Fire Department for their quick action to contain and put out the fire.
The impact of the fire and our anticipated reopening date are still being evaluated. We will be closed while we clean up and make repairs. We’ll keep our customers in the loop with our progress through our Facebook page as we make progress on the repairs.
