Light freezing drizzle and light snow lead to several traffic accidents in Lubbock and across the South Plains Sunday morning.
A light glaze of ice developed on bridges, overpasses and some area roadways.
The Lubbock Police Department told EverythingLubbock.com they had responded to nearly 90 traffic accidents since midnight, as of early Sunday afternoon.
LPD said injuries were reported in some of those accidents.
Street crews with the City of Lubbock and the Texas Department of Transportation were out early Sunday morning treating affected roadways.
Temperatures will remain below freezing, so icy spots may remain in place across the area throughout the day and into the night.
LPD is asking residents to drive safely and slow down.
