University Medical Center confirmed social media reports that a little girl died Monday morning. She was found submerged under water in a pool Sunday afternoon in the 15400 block of County Road 1870.
Initially officials said she was age 3. UMC clarified that she was age 4.
A family member wrote on Facebook, “Early this morning the heavens gained one more beautiful angel! The Lord works in ways that we may never comprehend.”
“Me and my family are overwhelmed and thankful for all the prayers and support through this hard time,” the Facebook message said. “Also, we would personally like to thank the Woodrow Volunteer Fire Department for being first on the scene.”
That same message also said, “Lubbock County sheriffs, Lubbock EMS and all the hard-working doctors and nurses at UMC … went above and beyond to make sure they did everything to save her life!”
Officials have not yet released her name.
