Rafael John Deleon, 21, was arrested Thursday morning at the Littlefield Post Office after receiving a package with marijuana inside, police said.

The Littlefield Police Department worked with federal U.S. Postal Service investigators because a suspicious package was located, according to a Littlefield Police Department news release.

A federal search warrant was obtained, and the package was searched in Littlefield.

“Over six pounds of hydroponic marijuana with an estimated street value of $10,000 was discovered,” according to police.

The package was then reconstructed. According to the news release, Deleon arrived to claim the package. Police said he left the post office in possession of the package.

At that time, Deleon was arrested without incident, according to the news release. He was transported to the Lamb County Jail where he was booked. Littlefield police will continue to investigate.
