The following is a press release from the Lubbock Police Department:
Accident Investigators with the Lubbock Police Department are investigating a fatal crash early Friday morning.
Just after 3 a.m., on July 27th, officers responded to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 27 near 82nd Street. The driver, 23-year-old Maci Hamilton, had been ejected from the car and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Through the initial investigation, it appears the car was traveling southbound in the 7800 block of I-27, hit a guardrail and then rolled. The car came to a stop in the concrete median between I-27 and the southbound I-27 access road.
Hamilton was the only person in the car.
This crash remains under investigation by the LPD Accident Investigation Unit.
