The Lubbock Police Department investigated the report of a stabbing that occurred at the South Plains Mall early Sunday evening.
The incident was reported around 6:30 p.m.
LPD told EverythingLubbock.com one person was transported by ambulance from the mall’s southwest parking lot (between Bealls and Shoe Dept. Encore) with serious injuries.
A spokesperson for the South Plains Mall said the incident was contained to one store and was between two employees.
“At no time was guest safety compromised,” the spokesperson told EverythingLubbock.com.
Just after 8:00 pm, Lubbock Police issued the following update:
Lubbock Police were called to the parking lot of the South Plains Mall, in front of Bealls, around 6:25 p.m., Sunday, October 28th, following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim, who was transported to UMC, by EMS, with serious, but non life-threatening injuries. At this time it appears there was an altercation between two males, before the stabbing occurred.
