A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle Saturday evening in Central Lubbock has died, according to the Lubbock Police Department.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the 1900 block of the Marsha Sharp Freeway just after 9:30 p.m.
Lubbock Police said Joey Alafa, 42, was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lanes of the Marsha Sharp Freeway access road.
Alafa was transported from the scene by ambulance to University Medical Center with serious injuries. He was later pronounced deceased.
The Lubbock Police Department Accident Investigations Unit was called to the scene to investigate the accident.
