One person was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries after a “major crash” at 130th Street/FM 1585 and Upland Avenue.
The intersection was opened around 9 p.m., police said Monday. The intersection was closed while police investigated on scene.
On Tuesday morning police provided a brief update and said, “The driver of the car, 23-year-old Tyler Jones, remains in the hospital this morning with serious injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, 46-year-old Jon Harrison, had moderate injuries. Harrison was taken by a private vehicle to hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.”

The intersection of 130th Street and Upland Avenue has been reopened after a major crash Monday afternoon that sent one person to the hospital.
On July 30th, just before 5 p.m., Lubbock Police officers responded to the area of 130th Street and Upland Avenue for reports of a crash involving injuries.
Preliminary information indicates a car was traveling northbound on Upland Avenue and a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on 130th Street. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.
The driver of the car, a 23-year-old male, was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the pickup truck had moderate injuries.
At this time, officers with the Lubbock Police Department Accident Investigation Unit are investigating the cause of the crash.
Earlier in the day, the Lubbock Police Department said it was notified around 4:40 p.m. of the crash.
“The crash occurred between a car and a pick-up truck. We have reports of one person with moderate injuries and another person with serious injuries,” Lubbock Police said.
Multiple officers and accident investigators were on scene, police said.
