The following is a press release from Lubbock Police Department: 

Jose Villegas, 20, is now in custody and charged with aggravated robbery in connection to the shooting and stabbing at Peppertree Inn Apartments last Friday night.
 
On October 20th at approximately 8 p.m., Lubbock police officers responded to reports of a shooting at Peppertree Inn located in the 5300 block of 11th Street. Officers located 33-year-old Jesus Montez in the parking lot. Montez had multiple injuries consisting of gunshot wounds and stab wounds. He was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
 
Initial information indicated the victim got into an altercation with a suspect and at some point he was stabbed and shot. Through the investigation, detectives with the LPD Person Crimes Unit were able to identify Villegas as a suspect, and a warrant for his arrest was issued on Wednesday, October 25th.
 
On Friday, October 27th, at approximately 11:30 a.m., U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force Foxtrot and LPD Special Operations investigators took Villegas into custody at the Landing at Pinewood Park Apartments located at 502 Slide Road.
