LPD: Woman injured in shooting early Sunday morning in East Lubbock

The Lubbock Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a woman injured early Sunday morning. 

The incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. in the 1900 block of East Broadway at the Hitching Post.


LPD told EverythingLubbock.com officers were dispatched to the area following reports of a disturbance and shots fired.

Officers, however, did not locate any gunshot victims at the scene during their investigation.

Police said a 28-year-old woman showed up at University Medical Center around 4:50 a.m. with a gunshot wound to her shoulder. 

The victim had been brought to UMC by private vehicle and her injuries did not appear to be life threatening. 

LPD said the victim appears to have been shot during the disturbance but was not necessarily the intended target.
