The Lubbock Dream Center gave away over 1200 backpacks to local school children Saturday morning.
The backpacks were filled with school supplies for students in kindergarten through 8th grade.
Organizers said many organizations came together to raise funds and resources to make backpack giveaway possible.
In addition to the backpack giveaway, the Lubbock Dream Center also offered other activities to those in attendance including face painting and games.
They also provided back to school haircuts for children.
