LUBBOCK, Texas (NEWS RELEASE) – The following is a news release from Lubbock Fire Rescue:
Lubbock Fire Rescue is pleased to announce that Fire Chief Shaun Fogerson has appointed Division Chief Nick Wilson as Deputy Chief of Operations. Chief Wilson joined the department in 1997 and achieved the rank of Division Chief in September of 2018. Prior to that he served as the Battalion Chief of Training for three years, as a Training Officer since 2011, and for many years as the department Public Information Officer. He holds numerous certifications including Texas Commission on Fire Protection Advanced Firefighter, Advanced ARFF Firefighter, Fire Instructor III, Fire Officer II, Incident Safety Officer, Intermediate Wildland Firefighter, Driver Operator-Pumper, and Advanced EMT. In addition he serves as a member of the South Plains Incident Management Team, TIFMAS team, and has received commendations including a Citation of Merit, Medal of Valor, and the Walter “Sonny” Campbell service award.
“I am honored and thankful to Chief Fogerson for giving me this opportunity,” said Wilson. “I look forward to serving both the citizens of Lubbock as well as the men and women of Lubbock Fire Rescue in this new capacity.”
Chief Wilson will begin his new role May 25, 2019.
