The Lubbock County Republican Party will take applications to be on the ballot for judge of County Court at Law #3 until August 1 at 5:00 p.m.
The Republican Party Executive Committee will choose from the applicants on August 6. The election will be November 6.
The previous Republican candidate, David Nelson, lost his life in an accident recently.

The Lubbock County Republican Party has established the following procedures for filling the vacancy on the Republican ballot for County Court at Law number 3.
Qualified applicants must submit a letter of intent, to Chairman Evans by 5:00pm August 1st. Letters of intent will be accepted by email at chairman@lubbockgop.org and in person from 12:00pm to 5:00pm August 1st at the Lubbock County Republican Party Headquarters 2642 34th St.
All applicants will be given an opportunity to address the LCRP Executive Committee* at a meeting scheduled for August 6th.
The selection vote will be held at that meeting.
*The Lubbock County Republican Party Executive Committee consists of the Chairman and the elected Precinct Chairs.
