Lubbock Kick-Off of National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week

The following is a news release from the South Plains Homeless Consortium:

A Kick-off event for the National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week will be held on Monday, November 13th at 10:00 am. The event will be held at The Salvation Army of Lubbock, 1614 Ave. J, Lubbock, TX 79401. The public is invited to attend the event.

A proclamation from the City of Lubbock will be read at the event. as well as statements from David Weaver, CEO of the South Plains Food Bank, on the state of hunger in Lubbock, and Chad Wheeler, President of the South Plains Homeless Consortium, on the state of homelessness in Lubbock. Service providers and citizens representing a broad spectrum of involvement in these issues will be in attendance.
