On Wednesday, Lubbock Meals on Wheels warned the public of a potential phone scam where someone is asking for donations.
According to a press release, no one will ever receive a phone solicitation from Lubbock Meals on Wheels.
“Please feel free to call us,” Meals on Wheels said for any question about the legitimacy of a request for funds.

We have recently received information about someone from a 575-area code calling to solicit donations for Meals on Wheels. Please be advised that no one will ever receive a phone solicitation from Lubbock Meals on Wheels. If you receive such a call, please either report it to the police, or let Lubbock Meals on Wheels’ staff know immediately. Whenever you have a question about the legitimacy of a request for funds on behalf of Lubbock Meals on Wheels, please feel free to call us at 806-792-7971.
