Lubbock’s Pie Five location, 2912 West Loop 289, closed on Wednesday.
A sign on the door said, “Due to unexpected issues, we are unable to open today 12/19/18. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow. Thank you! Mng.”
But the location did not reopen on Thursday, prompting EverythingLubbock.com to ask questions.
“It is unfortunate that our franchisee has chosen to temporarily close their Lubbock location,” Pie Five said to one of our reporters in a Facebook message.
On Friday, Pie Five said to EverythingLubbock.com by email, “At this time we do not have a date of when our Lubbock location reopen. When we know the date, we will update our website and send an email to our Circle of Crust members. Our apologies we cannot provide you with a better answer at this time.”
Pie Five opened in Lubbock in December of 2015.
UPDATE: The City of Lubbock routinely inspects restaurants for safety. We asked if there had been an issue, and the city said no. The city said inspectors found out about Pie Five closing by reading the note on the door.
