Lubbock Police arrested Stephanie Annette Thomas, 50, and Justin Lamar Thomas, 26, both of Lubbock for aggravated assault.  The two were accused of shooting at Jashaun Antwain Thomas Thursday evening in the 2400 block of East 6th Street.

Police were told Jashaun drove away from the original scene of the shooting to a nearby grocery store to call for help.

A police report quotes Jashaun as saying he was in an argument with Stephanie. He said Stephanie hit him in the face, and Justin shot a handgun at him. He said Stephanie then took the gun and fired at him.

According to the police report, a witness confirmed that both Stephanie and Justin both fired the gun at Jashaun. Police found two grazing bullet wounds on Jashaun’s left side and lower back.

Stephanie told police she fired the gun into the air to scare Jashaun away. She claimed he hit her in the face.

Stephanie and Justin Thomas were both held Friday in the Lubbock County Detention Center on bonds of $20,000 each.

The police report said a second police report was also related to the incident but the second report was not yet available.
