The following is a news release from the Lubbock Police Department:
The Lubbock Police Department is excited to team up with Hub City Street Hoops for a basketball game between LPD officers and local youth.
The games, sure to be filled with some laughs, will begin at 5 p.m. this Friday, March 9 at the Lubbock Police Dream Court located at 2004 Oak Avenue, behind the Mae Simmons Community Activity Center.
Dubbed “The Breaker Game,” youth basketball players will try to defeat LPD officers and take back the winning title that officers secured in the last game.
Two 20-minute games will be played on the Dream Court. In the first game, LPD officers will take on the older, teen-aged basketball league. The second game will be against the younger kids.
The Lubbock Police Department encourages community members to join them for this family-friendly event hosted by the Hub City Street Hoops. Entertainment and food will also be available.
