The following is a news release from the Lubbock Police Department:

On Friday, November 3rd, at 11:56 p.m., Lubbock Police Officers responded to reports of shots fired at 2915 Amherst.
 
Upon arrival, Lubbock Police Officers located the victim, 38-year-old Vincent Rosales, with a single gun-shot wound to the abdomen.
 
Rosales was transported to UMC by ambulance with possible life-threatening injuries. At last check, Rosales was in critical condition.
 
Through investigation, officers were able to determine that a male, wearing a ski mask and a red shirt kicked the front door of the residence open and then opened fire, shooting  and injuring Rosales.  
 
Officers were not able to locate the suspect.
 
An investigation is on-going.
