The Lubbock State Supported Living Center is honored to once again host bicyclists participating in the Ability Experience’s “Journey of Hope” ride across the country. Each summer for the last 30 years, bicyclists have raised money to promote a greater understanding of people with disabilities. A portion of the funds raised during this year’s ride will benefit the individuals who call the Lubbock State Supported Living Center home.
Bicyclists include members of the Pi Kappa Phi national fraternity. Before the summer is over, they will have traveled more than 4000 miles from Long Beach, California to Washington D.C. Along the way, they stop at various locations to participate in special activities with people with disabilities.
The bicyclists will arrive in Lubbock on Saturday July 8, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. There will be a special dinner Saturday evening at the Center with our individuals and on Sunday a fun day at the pool is planned.
