The following is a news release from the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra:
The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra (LSO) announced its 2018-2019 season, which features beloved pieces from master composers including Beethoven, Respighi, Mozart, Brahms, Schumann, Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky. The 72nd season also features appearances by guest artists such as Kenneth Broberg (piano) and Maja Bogdanović (cello). To top off the list of must-see performances, the LSO will also present its biennial gala, which features The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and famous trumpeter Wynton Marsalis. Additionally, LSO Music Director David Cho will remain as conductor for this highly anticipated seventh season.
“We believe this season represents the very best of what the Lubbock Symphony offers to the Lubbock arts community,” said Galen Wixson, LSO president and CEO. “Every concert is a can’t-miss event, but a performance by the spectacular Wynton Marsalis is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You won’t want to miss a moment.”
Season tickets are on sale now. In addition to the introduction of a new, lower-priced $100 season ticket level, season tickets also come with early access to purchase tickets to the gala concert, An Evening with The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra & Wynton Marsalis.
“Our season tickets are more affordable and have the added value of getting subscribers access to purchase gala tickets before the general public,” Wixson said. “Plus, season ticket holders get to experience every moment of this spectacular season.”
