Christopher Hernandez-Constancio, 17, of Lubbock was certified to stand trial as an adult Tuesday in a murder case.
Hernandez-Constancio was arrested in July in the area of East 8th Street and Oak Avenue. He was 16-years-old at the time he was accused of shooting and killing Ezekiel Gonzales on July 4.
“While it is against LPD policy to release juvenile information, Hernandez is considered a danger to the public,” police at the time said. “Investigators received a juvenile court order to allow the release of his name and information due to the substantial safety issue Hernandez poses to the public.”
Police also said at the time, “Gonzales was shot multiple times while at a house party located on the corner of 48th Street and Avenue U. Through the investigation, Hernandez was identified as the shooter.”
Hernandez-Constancio was held in the Lubbock County Detention Center Tuesday afternoon on a $250,000 bond.
